ViewLoader Orion Trigger Frame Comparison

This should apply to VL Orion, Avenger and Triton, they all are pretty much the same marker. So here is something to get you thinking. www.vlproseries.com does have a very nice electronic trigger frame for the vl markers, however it sells for about 70 bux plus tax and shipping.

So I took my Piranha apart and compared the E-Force grip to the stock VL Orion one.

The pictures speak for them selves, well not fully, the conclusion is that the E-Force grip will fit but there are several buts!

1. the e-force frame is more forward than stock orion one.

2. you need to use E-force screws the stock orions are now enough

3. E-Force frame is too long by about 1/3 inch you might not be able to use the asa adapter, cutting is an option.

4. E-Force has a guide beam in the back, its basically a horizontal bar across the inside of the E-Force grip, it needs to be shaved down for it to fit an Orion (see pic below)

5. The screw holes match 100%, and PMI uses same type of thread on the screws.

6. The shear on the E-Force is smaller but it sticks out the same about as the VL Orion one so no probles expected there.

The comparison pictures with horizontal lines is an aproximation I didn't put the frames side by side down to a milimeter.

See the circled area its where the small plastic bar has to be shaved.
