Extreme Rage V2 Electric 3 Speed Hopper Modification
Paintball Section : Modifications Page: Extreme Rage Hopper: Electronic Eye Setup

The electronic eye setup is easy and can be done in many ways. I picked the elbow neck of a 45 Deg elbow with tightening screw because it would make for a removable piece(easy to clean) and can be adjusted by twisting it few degrees left or right , its a crude way of adjusting the sensitivity. The IR reciver recives all Infared light this includes sun light, neon light, light bulb light halogen ligh, any light what so ever!!! this really poses a problem cause you cannot totally stop all light from reaching the hoppers neck, you have the transparent lid, and light comming down the barrel and up, but you can adjust it, maybe putting a stronger resistor on the reciver and sender would do the trick, but then again we have all those transistors helping boost the signal and now it turns out that its bit too much... well work it... my solution is make holes smaller and gently twist the eyestup until proper result is reached and then tighten the buterfly screw to keep it tightly in place. Another thing is that the elbow I used was smoke color, so its still some what transparent, mamzingly light from the outside would make its way to the IR reciever anyways, so I painted it black on bot sides which helped somewhat, I' thinking to take old remote controll take it apart and take that red filter it has covering the emitter cut it to size and put it over the emitter and reciever in the hopper. Mail me if you got suggestions.

Extra Help:

At the top right pic you see the besic setup, but i noticed that paintballs can fly fast and 1 hit actually broke off the part i epoxyed. So i went to the drawing board and used some copper wire to tighten it on the ring, then used way more!! epoxy and applied it 3 times in layers in different spots and along the wires too, in order to make the whole ring more solid, it this breakes, i will have to whip out the fiberglass.
